Currently The University of Auckland E4E staff is undertaking, and collaborating on, the following projects:

mapping current New Zealand medical educational curricula and contexts

creation of literature review describing existing educational approaches and the contexts in which the study is being undertaken

conducting original research to evaluate approaches to health professional education:

o Interviewing Indigenous health curriculum developers to identify the specific approaches used and the reasons underlying their use. 

o Conducting focus groups with learners, educators, patients and other stakeholders to study the impact of different educational approaches

development of an Indigenous chronic disease education ‘toolkit’ and methods to evaluate the effectiveness of Indigenous health education

informing the development of interventions that address underlying health professional knowledge, attitudes and behaviours 

communication of research findings and knowledge translation to improve Indigenous health education in a wide range of health professional education settings.
